COMFY PERFUME

Hello and of course Happy New Year,

Santa brought me some very cool gifts this year and one of them is "Bal D'Afrique" by Byredo (in 100ml).


I was sniffing Byredo perfumes for months and I sniffed this one without real conviction (the name was not really attractive to be honest, I am not into woody or too spicy scent) . But when I tried it, I felt in love right away. 
I am not very good to describe scents to be honest so I found a good one on the web :

"Bright and luscious opening of bergamot and blackcurrant - sweet, but not overpoweringly so, rich and mouth-wateringly juicy in texture. The violet-jasmine heart retains a citrus edge and dries down with a velvety musk to a gorgeous creamy wood and vetiver base, still finishing slightly sweet."

The description is pretty accurate here, for me this perfume was like a revelation, I am in love with "portrait of a lady" by Frederic Malle too but they are very different.
"Bal d'Afrique" stays well on my skin and doesn't change. I feel so comfy when I wear it, like a security blanket. It's feminine but not too much, my husband loved it too so I was thinking about it on my santa's list.

Byredo creates very unique and quality scents, "Blanche" is also on my list (very clean scent, you know my passion for laundry scent).
The packaging is perfect for me, simple and elegant. I hate fancy packaging because I know how perfume are designed and a lot of the price is in the packaging. I am looking for quality scent, not beautiful bottle.
The box is super classy and this time I kept it because it's perfect to store safely my new baby.
By the way always keep your perfume away from light, heat and humidity. I didn't know that and I had to throw away some very beautiful perfume. I am storing mine in a drawer away from heat.

Did you ever try Byredo perfume? 

Another scent that was picking my curiosity was "creme d'nude" by MAC. I always saw those perfumes at my local store and decided to try some when I was purchasing my all time favorite brow gel in "redhead". This one was soft and clean at the same time. Very unique too and perfect for everyday (even when I stay at home I like to wear perfume). And I didn't want to waste too quickly my beautiful "Bal d'Afrique" (the price here is not the same at all).
It stays all day on my skin, I can say that was a surprise. 

The packaging is really ugly but simple, so it's ok. I will repurchase it with no hesitation.
